Living, Loving, Learning within a Christian Environment

We aim to be a school filled with happy children who are enabled and inspired to fulfil their potential within a caring, Christian environment.

Rosliston CE Primary School provides all children with the opportunity to enjoy learning and achieve their very best, in a safe, secure, and supportive environment. Our school will set high expectations for all learners to achieve high standards.  We wholeheartedly embrace the Diocese of Derby’s Vision Statement.

Our school helps children to become healthy and confident individuals, as well as team players and leading them into becoming responsible citizens of the future. We will encourage all children to be creative, enquiring, eco-friendly, valued, reflective and skilful through a diverse curriculum. We expect them to become responsible, resourceful, reflective, resilient and ready to learn.

Our school community will support all children and adults into becoming lifelong learners who respect each other's faith, talents and achievements. We aim to work in partnership with the community of which we are a part. We will embrace new technologies and constantly strive for improvement for the future of all our learners.

A journey through our school will be engaging, fun, creative, challenging and active, leading to success for all.

Our vision for our children

We want our children to be self-motivated, confident life-long thinkers, who are enthused by a fun, creative integrated skills curriculum. Our aspirations are for all children irrespective of their personal beliefs, to be healthy, active, valued and safe, as well as team players and responsible, caring British citizens. Our part in this is to provide a safe, supportive, enjoyable environment which upholds Christian and British values. We want all children to achieve their very best, respecting all talents, faiths and achievements; so that they can think for themselves and act for others, experience and enjoy diverse relationships, choose their personal journey in faith, be resilient, confident and compassionate and enjoy life.

Our vision for our parents

Our parents will be involved and active in their child's learning and in the life of the whole school. We want to work with you to embrace all curriculum opportunities and develop the holistic child, learning alongside your children. We wish to nurture an environment where there is a dual dialogue of partnership and respect. We value the complexities, diversities and uniqueness of family life and will support families as necessary through integrated services within our school.

Our vision for our staff

Our staff will be energised in their own learning, so they can provide a fun, well-balanced, creative curriculum where all children can achieve their very best. All staff will have high expectations, high standards and use higher order questioning to promote learning in a warm, caring, polite and tolerant environment, creating a learning environment where Christianity is embraced and its values are upheld by everyone.

Our vision for the wider community

We encourage our community to work in partnership with us, by sharing facilities where possible and also by supporting community initiatives. We work closely with the local Church to display pupils’ work, hold services. and  provide a tree for them at Christmas.
