Home Learning (Updated 14.03.22)

Reception Home Learning

There are a selection of maths activity mats and English activities within the attached learning packs.

Remember that you can access the Monster Phonics website using your logon. We are currently on week 6. This will give you access to the current week of phonics lessons and a large range of Ebooks.

For wider curriculum activities, you could go on a spring walk and look for signs of spring. Can the children draw and label some of the things that they have seen? Can they take photos of them?

The children are learning about animal habitats. You could go on a bug hunt outside or try to make a habitat for an animal such as a hedgehog. Can the children find out some facts about the animal that they have made a habitat for?

KS1

Year 1 Maths

We are starting to work on length and height in maths this week. The children will be learning how to measure using non-standard units such as cubes, pasta and paperclips and how to do this accurately. They will then move on to measuring in cm using a simple ruler. Please combine the worksheets below with some practical measuring activities.

I've attached a link to some home learning videos from the White Rose Website and a few printable worksheets which may have been missed during isolation that the children could do at home.

Year 2 Maths

This week, we are learning how to measure using a ruler. The children will learn how to measure in centimetres and metres.

I've attached a link to the White Rose home learning videos and there are some accompanying worksheets available below. Please combine these with lots of practical measuring at home :).

English/ Science

We are going to take part in the 'If You Were An Engineer What Would You Do?' competition.

I have attached an information booklet as well as the log book which we will be using for some of our English lessons this week. Please see the website and booklet for more information. It would be brilliant for any children isolating at home to take part in the competition too!
