Knowledge Organisers

The Knowledge Organisers above outline the content each year group will be covering in their English lessons. These are stuck in the children's English books at the start of each academic year and act as an overview, aide-memoire and assessment tool. They include reading skills, book recommendations, writing genres and grammar concepts.

 

For specific writing tasks, we use Knowledge Organisers which are tailored to the particular genre the children are expected to write, which include the key features, vocabulary/word banks and often WAGOLL examples ('What a good one looks like'). These are shared with pupils either as a prompt and supporting document in class, displayed on the working walls and/or stuck in the children's books.
