PSHE and RSE

Welcome to our PSHE and RSE page. At Rosliston, we are committed to providing our pupils with an effective PSHE and RSE curriculum which enable them to become independent, confident, healthy and responsible members of society. We use the Entrust scheme of work. This is a 'spiral curriculum' which allows us to have a whole-school focus each half term whilst ensuring progression across the school. On this page, you will find important information and documents realting to our PSHE and RSE curriculum, alongside information on ways you can support your child at home.

Derbyshire BERT Award (Bronze)

We are immensely proud to have achieved the Bronze 'Building Effective Relationships Together' Award in 2023.

What is the BERT Award?

An award programme to develop your Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) provision in line with statutory requirements of the OFSTED Framework.

The Award included:

  • an audit of our whole school approach to RSE
  • an action plan to meet criteria for the Bronze Level of the Award
  • Networking Events for staff to share best practice
  • surveys and a digital dashboard to measure our progress.

We are thrilled to have our RSE curriculum recognised as being inclusive, strong with both age-appropriate content and resources and excellent communication with families, offering support with RSE topics and providing our school community with a safe space to discuss health and relationships.

We have our framed certificate proudly displayed in school and would like to share our digital Bronze Award with you all below.
