Each balloon contained a different word problem involving adding and subtracting mass. We had to work collaboratively to answer the question in the balloon before we were able to pop another.

What a brilliant week we've had this week in Badgers! This week was British Science week and we have all been engineering our own designs for the 'If you were an engineer, what would you do?' competition. We've been finding out about the job of an engineer - and how many different types of engineering there are! Today we ended the week wearing red to raise money for Comic Relief. We are looking forward to continuing our work on engineering next week when we welcome an engineer into school to help us become rail engineers!

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks in Badgers Class! This has included learning to find fractions of quantities in Maths, practising our reading VIPERS and writing diaries and newspaper reports in English, thinking about renewable and non-renewable energy in PSHE and making our own Greek vases! Here are a few photos to give a flavour of what we’ve been up to. Keep an eye out for our new friend, our class mascot who arrived this week too!

We have been working hard in Badgers so far this week…
We’ve had an introduction to Myon, a huge online library of books that we will can access both in school and at home.
We’ve learnt about different Ancient Greek gods and goddesses.
And we’ve used these to set up an investigation into how different drinks affect our teeth!

What a fantastic start to the term! This week we launched our new topic, ‘Who Let the Gods Out?’. We read the first chapter of the book by the same name and looked at what we can learn about the Ancient Greeks from Greek pottery. In Science, we learnt about the digestive system, naming the organs of the digestive system and their functions. In Maths, we have been measuring, converting and comparing length. On Wednesday, we welcomed Stedy, who led our first basketball session of the term. He’ll be joining us every week for 6 weeks and we can’t wait to practise our skills again next week!

We've had a busy day today! This morning we cracked division with remainders and edited and improved our stories. We then had our Christmas lunch complete with crackers and ended the day by building our Stone Age houses.

We kicked off anti bullying week with Odd Socks Day. We wore our odd socks, watched the Odd Socks Day assembly with Andy and the Odd Socks and created our own odd socks bunting to hang at the front of school to celebrate how unique each one of us is.

What a busy two weeks we've had in class 3 / 4! We've had virtual visits from Dennis Ashton, an astronomer from The Ogden Trust and Leanne from Severn Trent and a real life visit from Kate who was teaching us lots of first aid skills. We made 'dirt pudding' in Science, learning about the layers of the Earth and in art we have been researching and sketching examples of cave art. Our gallery below has lots of photos to show you some of the things we've been up to over the past two weeks.

We've had another busy week in class 3 / 4! We have been comparing numbers, counting in different intervals and learning Roman numerals in Maths, writing setting descriptions in English and making chocolate rocks in Science! Check out this week's gallery to see some of our work.

We've had another brilliant couple of weeks in class 3 / 4. We've started our History and Science topics, began reading Stone Age Boy in our English lessons and in Maths we've been busy investigating place value. There has been lots of collaborative work happening and we've all worked incredibly hard. Check out the gallery below to see some of the activities we've been taking part in!
What an amazing first week back! We built gratitude towers, taking time to think about what we are thankful for, made healthy salads and created amazing pieces of art all about us!
