Anne Hooley (Chair)

I joined Roslistion governors as Chair in November 2019.  I have worked in education for over forty years, twenty of those as a head teacher. During that time I have led many schools in different parts of the country, covering the whole primary age range. I hope to bring my experience to help and support the work of the school and governing body.

The role of the governors is to support, examine and challenge how Rosliston CofE Primary is run for the good of all pupils and community. However, the education landscape is ever-changing and being the chair of governors is just one part of the large team of the Rosliston family. I have witnessed that every member of this team is dedicated to the well-being and high achievements of all pupils. I am very happy to be part of this body of people committed to reviewing and planning actions, in order to move forward and continue to improve outcomes.

Linda Meacham (Vice Chair)

I live in Rosliston and am a Mum to two boys who have both had their primary education at Rosliston.  My youngest son will move to secondary school in September 2021.  I currently work at Rolls-Royce where I manage improvement projects. I am a Co-opted Governor due to my finance background and I currently chair the school’s Finance Committee.

Alex Shaw

My name is Alex Shaw and I am the newest member of  the School Governor team.  I have 2 children at Rosliston CE Primary School in Reception and Year 2.  I have lived in the area for almost 10 years and am very appreciative of the richness that the school brings to the community.  I am a qualified engineer with experience working in both design and operational roles at a large, Derby based company.  I have a passion for celebrating successes whilst not losing sight of areas for improvement and helping develop realistic plans to achieve defined goals.

Along with my wife and two children we have a passion for helping children in care and are foster carers for young children who need a helping hand in their early years.

Caroline Preston

My name is Caroline Preston and I am a Parent Governor on the School Governor team.  I have a daughter in Reception Class at Rosliston CE School and a son who is 2 years old.  I have been a Primary School Teacher for the past 17 years and have taught all age groups from Reception up to Year 5 and am now part of the School Leadership Team at my School.  Throughout my career I have taught English across both Key Stages and work with SEND children on a daily basis.  I have also been a school PTA member for many years helping to raise much needed funds for school.

Brian Matkin

I am the Local Authority Governor, being nominated by Derbyshire County Council. I have been a governor for a number of years and have acted as Chair during that time.  I am actively involved in the village, serving as a Parish Councillor and member of the Village Hall Management Committee.

I was a Shift Manager at Drakelow Power Station until its closure some years ago, but am now a self-employed Training Consultant working mainly in the electricity sector.

Diane Matkin

I have been a governor at Rosliston School for over last thirty years - firstly, whilst my children attended and then whilst the grand-children have been in school

I was first a parent governor and am now a Foundation Governor, nominated by the Church.

I live in Caldwell and am involved in various organisations in the area: the Village Hall Management Committee, the Church PCC, as well as the school.

I have been actively involved in all areas of school -supporting fundraising, listening to children reading. as well as helping in the classes.

Rev. Bruce Johnson

My Name is Revd Bruce Johnson, I am the Team Vicar responsible for four churches in Rosliston, Coton-in-the-Elms, Croxall and Walton-on-Trent. I have been here for just under a couple of months now, after having been ordained four years ago at Derby Cathedral. Prior to that I worked Internationally as an IT Programme/Project Manager for over 25 years but I also have experience of working in High schools and Primary schools, having supported and worked in three schools in pastoral and project based work based roles, covering some very exciting school moves and a series of very complex situational needs.

I am married with three grown up children and one grandson. I am very interested in local history, travel and languages ( I speak three languages). I am really looking forward to getting to know everybody at Rosliston school better and supporting everybody and the school to achieve there full potential
