Welcome to Rosliston

Thank you for choosing to become a valued part of the Rosliston CE Primary School family! We can't wait to welcome our new starters in September 2025 (when school starts, on Monday 8th September).

Have a look at the photo slideshow below to familiarise yourself with our special, little school. You can also find information below about our upcoming transition opportunities, including our 'New Parent/Carer' Welcome Evening.

The Welcome Evening, on Thursday 19th June, will give you the chance to meet your child's Class Teacher (Mrs Yates) and our Headteacher (Mrs Daniels). We will explain how Reception works and offer valuable insight into life in our lovely school. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have and to have a tour of the school building and grounds. During this evening, we will also give you a Welcome Pack to take home, full of important information and resources to help with the transition to primary school. 

On Friday 27th June, we'd love to invite our new starters in to school with a parent/carer to spend the afternoon with us. You will meet your classmates, make new friends from across the school and say 'Hello' to the grown-ups who'll be working closely with you. It's a great opportunity to familiarise the children with their new classroom and our dedicated early years outdoor space, all whilst having lots of fun! 

Wednesday 2nd July is our whole-school 'Move Along Morning', during which every child moves into their new class (or visits their new secondary school if they're leaving us). We'd love our new starters to join us for this exciting morning, during which they'll complete fun activities with Mrs Yates and Mrs Foster (Teaching Assistant) and learn about the routine of the school day. This morning is for children only and will give them the chance to be independent and support them in getting used to being in school without their parents/carers. We're always sure to keep you updated with how they're getting-on, don't worry! 

Friday 5th September is an INSET day, which means the school is closed to pupils, but if your little one is feeling a little bit wobbly about starting school, Mrs Yates, Mrs Foster and Mrs Daniels (as well as the rest of our friendly team) will be in school on this day if you think visiting before the new start on Monday 8th September would be helpful!
