Progression Documents
Our Curriculum
At Rosliston CE Primary School, we use the National Curriculum as a basis for all of our teaching and learning. A copy of the National Curriculum can be accessed below.
We have overhauled our curriculum offer and have planned exciting, engaging topics which are both relevant to our children and local area but also explore the wider world and its rich history.
Below, you will find our Progression Documents, which show the progression of knowledge and skills as children make their journey through the year groups in our school and thus, cover the Primary curriculum.
Where National Curriculum subject-specific objectives, and the knowledge and skills therein, link to a wider curriculum topic such as in Geography, History, Art and Design and Design Technology, you will see an annotation on the Progression Document, which links the learning to one of our topics.
We teach a topic-based curriculum, however some subjects are taught discretely which is why not all curriculum objectives (in all subjects) have an annotated topic linked to them.
Where we use schemes or external providers for subjects (such as PE, French, Music, Computing and PSHE), you will find overviews of the knowledge and skills progression in the provider's overview documents, attached below.
Each topic, theme and scheme we use has been carefully chosen and planned to cover the knowledge and skills of the curriculum but also to capture our children's imaginations and ensure they develop a love of learning!
