We are proud to be an inclusive, accepting school with professional, experienced staff and a strong network of supportive services and agencies who provide additional care and support for our pupils.
Please see below, the Rosliston Approach to SEND. This simple, easy-to-follow, flow chart is what our staff use to identify and support pupils with additional needs.
You will also find below, our whole-school provision map. This document details the strategies in place for all of our pupils.
The Derbyshire Local Offer
Below, you will find a link to the Derbyshire Local Offer, a site with helpful links to services, organisations and information about SEND in Derbyshire.
“Helping and supporting children & young people with special educational needs and disabilities to be more confident in their communities and live independently.”

The Derbyshire Local Offer is in place to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as their parents and carers. The website provides clear, up-to-date information about the various services and provisions available within Derbyshire to support children and young people with SEND. It covers a wide range of topics, including how to apply for an assessment, early years support, education and learning, care services, preparing for adulthood, health and wellbeing, financial support and travel and transport. The Local Offer aims to help families navigate the support system, ensuring that children and young people with SEND can access the resources they need to thrive in their communities and achieve greater independence. Other key features of the Derbyshire Local Offer include the directory of local SEND services, support groups, activities, and leisure opportunities. This directory allows families to easily find and connect with the services that best meet their needs.
By offering a centralised hub of information, the Derbyshire Local Offer empowers families to make informed decisions and access the right support at the right time, enhancing the quality of life for children and young people with SEND in Derbyshire.
The Derbyshire Local Offer want to hear from you. All feedback is welcomed and received positively. Tell us what you like, dislike and want to see. The website is designed and populated in co-production with parents, carers, children and young people, which means you have the chance to make a positive difference for everyone. All feedback and our response to feedback is published annually.
The Derbyshire Local Offer welcomes all feedback from anyone including children, young people, their parents and carers, childcare professionals, school professionals and health professionals. To contact the Derbyshire Local Offer, please email: Local.offer@derbyshire.gov.uk, or complete the Derbyshire Local Offer Feedback Form.
